About Us
Trade Center Auto Recyclers Inc, was established in 1953, It is one of the longest continues operating facilities in the state of Colorado. Trade Center Auto Recyclers was purchased in 1992 by Ray and Ely McGhghy. Their philosophy has always been to provide a good quality product at a fair price. They recognized very quickly that to be able to do this while also insuring that it is the correct part they needed to computerize their inventory. So in 1994 they invested in a state of art computer system to help better serve there customers, this made for a quicker turn around time for the customer with less returns.
This also allowed for searching the whole U.S and Canada for that hard to find part. This system has been upgraded many times through the years to provide the best part, at the best price possible. Towing services were also added in 1994, allowing better service to the clients wishing to sell a damaged or non running vehicle. In 1997 a second tow company was added to help augment the inventory. As the company grew they saw the need to expand into the Delta, Montrose, Ouray, Gunnison and San Miguel Counties. In 1999 the Delta location was purchased, to help supply parts to our clients and customers quicker and cheaper. It was an established facility of 15 years and more then doubled their inventory. Delta also added the ability to handle scrap metals, with the addition of a car crusher. By 2006 the car crushing, scrap metal division had out grown its equipment. A larger portable crusher was added to the fleet, resulting in adding another yard in Grand Junction to handle the quantity of materials coming in. In 2013, a 4th facility was added in Rifle to help service the I-70 corridor including Garfield, Rio Blanco, Moffat, Eagle and Pitkin Counties.
Trade Center Auto Recycling has been a green business long before green became the popular thing to do. We have always been at the fore front of the recycling business, working hard at reducing the amount of anything going to the landfill. Not allowing any pollutants into the air or the water, we were the first on the western slope to join in on the Mercury Environmental Leadership Program, making sure that all mercury gets recycled. Our goal has always been to operate an environmentally friendly facility that provides an alternative source of quality parts at a more consumer friendly price. To provide these parts as quickly as possible.
